Job description



The Center for Advanced Learning team has an opening for a Senior Instructional Designer. The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for these main areas of work:
1. Understand client requirements and create requirements and design documents
2. Develop and coordinate creation of learning material and evaluations
3. Ensure deliverables meet IBM quality standards


The successful candidate will ideally have team-leadership and/or client project experience, and will be expected to apply the leadership and/or project perspective to recommendations and deliverables.


Responsibilities of the role:
This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Formulating and documenting requirements by interviewing clients
2. Reviewing and validating requirements provided by clients
3. Gathering and evaluating client objectives


4. Formulating learning objectives based on interviews with clients
5. Using client source materials to organize content into meaningful learning chunks
6. Determining best instructional strategies and delivery technologies using knowledge of adult learning theories to meet client expectations
7. Storyboarding course material including directions for media and technology
8. Leading the development team to meet timelines
9. Ensuring deliverables meet IBM standards for learning solutions by reviewing all course assets
10. Coordinating testing cycles and ensuring implementation of feedback
11. Designing evaluation instruments to measure learning effectiveness




More than 8 years of desired experience required

Bachelor's Degree
