The APJ SANT Content Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining proposal-ready content for the APJ Proposal Knowledgebase and associated proposal automation tools. An essential requirement will be to ensure that all content is well structured, persuasive and customer-oriented, and that it clearly articulates key messaging and benefits.

Key responsibilities:

· Content development and maintenance
Develop, manage and maintain persuasive proposal-ready content to cover Dell products, services, solutions and corporate material
· Interaction with Subject Matter Experts
Build strong network of Subject Matter Experts across the Dell APJ organisation. Run workshops with Subject Matter Expert(s) to identify key issues, topics, messages, gaps
· Source document/information analysis
Identify customer-ready collateral that exists (typically datasheets, statements of work, training decks for Sales). Analyze the collateral, to understand the product or offering and identify:
· From the datasheets, the key top level messages
· From the Statements of Work, the key deliverables
· From the Sales decks, the key Sales messages for customers
· Proposal-ready content creation
Structure and draft a proposal-ready response, combining essential content from all of the above in plain language. Identify and highlight gaps. Review draft with Subject Matter Expert(s) to fill gaps and verify the content and messaging. Agree a suitable expiration date
· Content maintenance
Review and monitor expiration dates for all source content. Proactively pursue updates with Subject Matter Experts, ahead of expiration dates
· Translated content preparation and management
Co-ordinate with global content team, to ensure that all new/updated content is shared and localized as appropriate, in UK/US English and in all currently supported languages. Identify source text that requires to be translated. (This will include both new text and updates to existing text). Prepare source texts for translation, for all new and updated content. When approved translations are returned, co-ordinate with local Content Managers to create new language versions or update existing ones, as appropriate.

· Fluent in English (both verbal and written) [ESSENTIAL]
· Excellent writing skills. [ESSENTIAL] At least 5 years’ experience in technical writing
· [PREFERRED] Previous exposure to bids and proposals, and in particular conversant with current proposal best practice methodologies
· [DESIRABLE] Previous experience of writing generic content for proposal automation systems
· Excellent document and information analysis skills [ESSENTIAL]
· Excellent communication skills; ability to run a workshop with senior consultants (face to face or over LiveMeeting) [ESSENTIAL]
· Expert knowledge of MS Office 2007 – specifically MS Word [ESSENTIAL]
· Good understanding of technical applications (capability to learn SANT library management tasks)
· Ability to operate with minimal day-to-day direction
· Attention to detail [ESSENTIAL]
· Time management and prioritization
· [DESIRABLE] Previous exposure to multi-cultural business environment
· Ability to work with virtual teams
· Sound understanding of the principles of knowledge management
