Job Description

Job Description: Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design'' circuit checking'' device evaluation and characterization'' documentation of specifications'' prototype construction and checkout'' modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components'' performing developmental and/or test work'' reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams'' planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.


Qualifications


You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science with more than two years of relevant post-si validation experience, or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science with one to two years of relevant post-si validation experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Knowledge of and experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and in-target probes(ITP)
- Familiarity with key mobile PC bus protocols (processor system bus, DDR, SDIO and/or MMC, USB, PATA) and ability to rapidly learn new ones
- Familiarity with Intel Product Life Cycle and HW Validation processes and methodologies
- A team player with good organizational and/or planning skills and solid verbal and/or written communication skills
- Good knowledge of system architecture and logical concepts
- Ability to independently read specifications, identify interesting test cases, document them, and implement them
- Highly motivated, curious, and have good lab skills (proper tool use, detailed note taking), and be keenly interested in finding and resolving silicon failures
- Experience with IA-32 programming, specifically C/C++ and x86 assembly
- Experience with SVOS and Rocket test content development and debug
- Experience in developing and debugging code in the Linux* environment (gcc*, gdb* and/or kdb*, BASH*, and Perl)
- Ability to read schematics and board layout files using industry standard tools would be an added advantage
- Power measurement and power management experience would be an added advantage
- A highly self-motivated team player would be an added advantage
