This role has responsibility for validating solution quality and reliability and for reporting test results to Quality Assurance organization. Must be skilled in designing, coding and executing tests on scalable file systems. Must be proficient in Linux and Windows file interoperability and distributed file systems (such as GPFS) and clustering. Strengths in debug / root cause analysis at device and RAID levels, in addition to Linux and Windows OpSys and file system levels.
Must collaborate with distributed teams of FVT, RVT, SLT, SLS and FST testers on SONAS product. Position requires collaboration with Test Automation Team Lead and Test Architect to develop and implement reliable automated regression tests of SW code while executing tests in a simulated customer like environment.
The individual will act as a mentor for junior members in the test team and work with the Test Architect and Test Manager to develop appropriate customer use cases and network filesystem storage solutions
More than 5 years of desired experience required
# Required Skills - Technical and Non Technical
Strong background in testing system software products (OS, Device Driver, etc)
Strong background in server, network and storage administration and configuration
Excellent understanding of storage (SAN, FC, Infiniband) and file system technologies
Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
Excellent skills in programming and scripting languages (C/Java, Shell/Perl/Python)
Familiarity with software dev processes, code management and status reporting tools
Ability to plan test execution details meticulously and identify dependencies early
Good written/verbal communication skills to crisply and accurately report test status
Good technical leadership skills to mentor new team members in test processes
Manage Skill Development and Knowledge Transfer activities to develop new members
Leverage opportunities to increase involvement with customers to learn customer environments through Advocacy Programs, site visits and/or customer briefings.
Develop and promote test plans that reflect customer use cases of NAS products.
Apply technical communication skills to address Field issues, customer impact events and/or systems failures to interact with customers and improve test processes.
Demonstrate creative problem-solving and analytical skills to drive innovation that matters to our products and our customers.
