Responsibilities
Solid and surface Computer Aided Design(CAD) modeling in ProE software
Perform calculations required for design of basic elements and components like gears, shafts, bearings etc using customized tools
Design of standard / mechanical / manual transmission systems, assembly and controls, using computer aided analytical tools, 3D layout and design, mechanical analysis and generate a full assembly of a component
Release of drawings in Product Lifecycle Management software (PLM) with help of system coordinators
Co-ordinate with external agencies like New Product Introduction (NPI), Ancilary Development Department (ADD), Quality Assurance etc before and after the release
Adhere to ISO and TS standards for audit purpose
Requirements
Department & Sub function:Transmission Design
Education Qualification:Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering
Relevant Experience:1 to 3 years
Reporting to :Manager-Design
Basic knowledge of principles of transmission systems and aggregates like Clutch, Gearbox, Joints, Differential, Axles, etc and components like differentials, bearings etc
Understanding of various Reliability techniques like Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Six Sigma(DFS) etc
Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes like gear cutting, casting, grinding, forging etc
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Good knowledge of fundamentals of engineering, design and drafting
Awareness of the Automotive domain
Should possess good grasping skills with a sound academic record. The candidate should possess first class(above 60%) through-out his academic record with-out a year or a six months gap due to failure
