Works in senior engineering role in mobile applications software technology area.
Applies wide technical knowledge by coaching and solving complex problems within own technology area. Should be able to leads productivity, quality and competitiveness,
Responsibilities:
Has the responsibility for specifying, planning, reporting, designing and reviewing in his/her area. Applies knowledge and skills through handling complex problems. Coaches other team members in solving engineering problems. Works in product creation project / technology project with implementation/integration responsibilities. Recognised specialist on a technical competence area and more than one cross functional competence areas. High contribution to project milestones by solving/avoiding most complex problems, through understanding dependencies in both in platform and product program. Proactively acts to understand customer needs and offers consultancy even when not asked. Undertakes technical training responsibilities. Applies knowledge and skills to a range of activities. Has responsibility for training and overseeing a college graduate or very junior engineer.
Scope
Operates autonomously in own subject area. Can analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert.Increased awareness of and involvement outside of own subject area. Distills big picture. Makes decisions about and prioritizes own work.
Impact
Impact is short-term through individual and team contributions. Scope is primarily within own subject area in a function/unit. Actions and errors impact on program, project or function.
Qualifications
Skill Set:
QT, QML, C++, Architectural expertise, Symbian, Meego, Exposure to Agile Methodologies, mobile applications expertise
Requirements
- 8-12 years of hands on development experience within the mobile world
- Experience with web technologies
- Experience with QT applications is important
- Knowledge in developing internet services (backends, and web technologies) desirable
- QT knowledge desirable
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-initiated with an eagerness to learn
- SW development experience on embedded device
- Experience in performance analysis, benchmarking, and optimization
- Experience with development at the application and user interface level
- Services web integration experience (protocols, architecture)
- Understanding of Nokia device platforms (S40,S60, Meamo)
- Preferably 10 years of relevant experience
- A positive, "can do" attitude
- Team player with an ability to clearly express his/her own, fact based views and proposals and also to listen and take into account others' opinions
Soft skills:
Front end customer interactions, presentations and reviews
Effective communicator with excellent relationship building & interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving & organizational abilities
