Nokia's Ovi Life Tools (OLT, http://europe.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/nokia-life-tools) is a range of Livelihood and Life Improvement services targeted at the entry audience. OLT is launched in India, Indonesia and China and soon also Nigeria.
This is a pioneering opportunity to create & monetize services built from the ground up, benefiting the daily lives of millions in the emerging markets.
Years of Experience: 6-9 years in Service Improvement, Process Improvement, Deployment, Production Support, Automation of Services, Root cause analysis and bug fixes. Reports to Manager - Service Operations
Responsibilities:
- Thorough understanding of NLT systems
- Guiding Ops Analysts for faster Incident Restoration
- Excellent Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills
- Fixing the minor bugs
- Responsible for Incident Resolution while working closely with both Ops Analysts and R&D engineers with RCA Report
- Identifying & implementing service & process improvement areas
- Identifying & implementing Service Automation
- Responsible for the Configuration & implementation of Nagios

General Purpose
Works as a senior engineer in a technology area e.g. SW/HW Development Main Responsibility AreaResponsible for specifying, planning, reporting, designing and testing in his/her area. Solves complex engineering problems of own technology area. Coaches other team members in solving engineering problems. Typically participates in reviews of own or neighbouring projects. Has specialist knowledge on a technical competence area and a cross functional competence area. Can act as a scrum master. May undertake technical training responsibilities.

Individual Contributor. Variety of complex tasks within area of responsibility, Demonstrates initiative & contributes to problem solving. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters. Makes decisions that affect own work.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:
- Demonstrates deep understanding of NLT systems/platforms
- Able to debug in Java, J2EE and J2ME
- Able to work in Linux environment & Shell Scripting
- Able to work in MySQL & SQL Queries
- Able to apply ITIL principles in Agile way for process improvement
- Able to customize Nagios for the Ops & Biz dashboard
Educational & other soft skills
- A minimum of B.Sc./B.Tech. Degree
- Able to coordinate with various stakeholders viz. Cluster teams, R&D, Testing and Operations
- Flexible to be accessible for 24X7 on-call for Critical and High priority Incidents.
- Strong communication skills
- Should be a fast learner on the newer versions of systems/platforms
