Description


Design, develop and implement large scale distributed data warehouse applications based on the Apache Hadoop platform.


The Mobile leader in Internet business is looking for talented individuals that can help us build the next generation Business Intelligence platform. The ideal candidate has experience working with the Apache Hadoop platform and with the design and development of large scale distributed data warehouse applications.


Primary Skills :


Java, Linux, Web Services, Hadoop, Cloud Computing Systems, MapReduce, PIG , Hive, Map Reduce
Hands-on experience with Hadoop and/or Map Reduce , Mahout, Chukwa
Good at scripting languages ( Perl/Python) , Unix Shell scripting , Regular expressions
Exposure to protocols like HTTP/WebDav


Secondary Skills :


Knowledge on Machine learning languages, Data Mining, Cascading, Lucene, HBase, PIG, Elastic Compute Cloud , Amazon EC2


Analytically strong engineers with a solid background in distributed systems, operating systems, and system internals to study, benchmark and push performance limits of Hadoop Map Reduce and Distributed File System


Handle the data manipulation, mining and storage needs of applications that work with several multi-terabyte data sets


Key Accountabilities % of Time :


1. Design and architect data processing framework for Data Management/Business Intelligence team
2. Implement MapReduce jobs for complex data processing tasks
3. Implement daily ingestion/aggregation jobs using Hive / Pig 20 /Custom Map Reduce
4. Implement highly scalable infrastructure platform for the cloud
5. Support and assist other teams in the group (QA, Release, and IT)
6. Work with Customers/Architects and Development team in understanding and implementing the system.
7. Research new technologies and expand development skills




Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent:


Experience required
Overall experience of 7 to 9 years of S/w experience.
2+ years designing and developing data processing applications using Apache Hadoop framework
3-4 years of Java development with focus on distributed computing
