Key Resposnsibilities/Skills:
* Responsibilities of the 'Software Engineer in Test' role include writing test specifications, coding test automation and test automation infrastructure, reporting and debugging product defect(s), partnering closely with development to engineer quality into the product (through design reviews and technical feedback), and participation in product and test code reviews.
* A 'Software Engineer in Test' position requires the equivalent technical competencies found in a 'Software Engineer' role. Additionally, a 'Software Engineer in Test' must also demonstrate strong testing competencies: a desire to understand how things work; pride in high quality engineering/artisanship; and a drive to break and test the limits of software. A 'Software Engineer in Test' is a highly technical and creative role, this is NOT a traditional test engineering position (manual testing, repetitive test case execution, etc.).
* Successful candidates are able to demonstrate a strong grasp of systems and platform programming fundamentals, communicate clearly, demonstrate test engineering competencies or potential, and have a track of record of successfully shipping commercial and/or production software products.
Mandatory Skills:
• Technical competence, proficiency in Java, C#, and/or C++. Our development is predominately in Java
• Technical proficiency in systems and platform level development (threads/pools, sockets and protocol, creating API's, etc.)
• 3+ years minimum experience in developing and shipping commercial/production software
• 'Can -do' attitude, passion for technology, strong communication skills
• Experience/competence in LAMP stack technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP), HTTP, REST
• Experience with 'Utility Scale' software services, software that scales to support hundreds of millions of users
• Experience with software test engineering practices, tools, and processes
• Experience with Agile software development practices and processes
Desirable Skills:
• Experience/competence in LAMP stack technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP), HTTP, REST
• Experience with 'Utility Scale' software services, software that scales to support hundreds of millions of users
• Experience with software test engineering practices, tools, and processes
• Experience with Agile software development practices and processes
Qualifications
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any related Science/Engineering field.
