Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1 To lead Advanced Engineering work with respect to Thermal management of systems for hybrid and electric vehicles including passenger comfort, motor, engine and battery
2 The development of fundamentally more efficient mechanisms and novel means for thermal management of vehicles including passenger compartment, the hybrid / electric power train and the battery.
3 Lead the development of next generation systems in thermal management and advanced climate control; do feasibility and simulation studies to implement new solutions and then develop concept prototypes
4 Study the customer requirements and convert them to technical specifications.
5 Interaction with other departments for transfer of technology developed to production
6 Interact with the project leaders and suppliers for the timely execution and completion of projects, review the designs of the aggregates, integration of aggregates and take the analysis results for further implementations.
7 Plan and arrange for aggregate testing to verify simulation results.
8 Involve with the activities and work related to Tier 1 suppliers to implement new solutions
9 Ensuring timely project planning, execution and monitoring of projects for development of various aggregates.
10 "Develop people for superior performance a) Motivate and Guide team members to enable them achieve organisational goals b) Periodically review subordinate performance and identify development needs c) Organise relevant training for employee development"
11 Develop risk taking capabilities and encourage actions to demonstrate the same
12 Establish the system to ensure that all the activities of the group are properly tracked and documented.
13 Lead knowledge management efforts to leverage existing knowledge base in different areas and provide support to other departments in terms of knowledge requirement
14 Ensure succession planning
15 Set departmental goals and cascade down to the base level. 16 Foster an environment conducive for innovation & change.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. A strong desire to lead the development of next generation and innovative systems
2. In-depth knowledge of software tools like Comsol / Fluent / Ansys / Kuli
3. Knowledge and Expertise of vehicle design and simulation techniques in areas of Thermal systems and Climate Control
4. Expertise in Integration of various vehicle systems with the inputs / feedback from testing and vehicle testing like vehicle performance testing etc
5. Awareness on updates on latest trend in automobile industry related to Climate Control
6. Experience of technology development and knowledge of product development process (DFMEA, DFSS, FEA, DOE etc), CAD/CAE and phase gate system.
7. Knowledge of Digital product development involving DMU Management will be added advantage.
8. Familiarity of legislative standards(AIS) and new regulations.(CMVR, EEC, ECE,ADR, FMVSS etc)
9. Good grasping and analytical skills required for innovative ideas
10. Leadership Skills & Strategic Orientation
11. Excellent knowledge of thermodynamics, especially with respect to heat transfer and fluid flow
12. Experience with climate control systems
13. Knowledge on current state of the art climate control systems
14. Experience of technology development
15. Good application knowledge of CAE tools for thermal system optimization
16. Knowledge of IC engine thermal management is an added advantage

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology or Master of Engineering/Technology in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
At least 14 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Assistant General Manager specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent. Job role in R&D (Advance Technology Group) or equivalent.
