Job description


The system administrator is responisible for audit compliances


# Creating and managing projects plans for OS upgrades, system configuration changes, and any major changes to the environment


# Ensuring SLAs and SLOs are met or exceeded; Adhering to the Change Management and Problem Management processes


# Performing problem management and meet system recovery requirements as defined by problem severity; Adhering to IBM Security Guidelines and Policies; Performing Capacity and Performance management; Ensuring the OS has PTF¿s applied in compliance with contract criteria or better


# Ensure security PTFs are applied as as required by IBM security guidelines


# Ensuring BRMS reports are being produced and transmitted to the Hub, and where BRMS is not installed a valid System Recovery plan must be documented;


# Ensuring PM400 is running and reporting to IBM; Assist Problem/Change group as needed to avoid Out of Criteria Problem tickets


# Managing and performing OS Upgrades as required in the contract


# Performing vendor management, such as reporting hardware failure and working with CE to replace/repair equipment, and coordinating access for the vendor


Provided at least two years of system administration support in an iSeries production environment


# Technical Skills


1. i5/OS & OS/400 Operating System Support
2. iSeries Hardware & Software config, install, maintenance, PTF/APAR management
3. Backup and Recovery management using BRMS
4. OS/400 Security Management
5. IBM Security Policies and Guidelines e.g. ITCS 104
6. Problem and Change Management process knowledge
7.Performance and Capacity Management
8.Perform vendor management
9.System Availability 7X24
10.IBM Account Organizational Structure e.g. DPE, SDM, PE etc
11.Manage Mimix High Availability Solution
12.LPAR/HMC technology


# Non Technical Skills


1. Customer Interfacing Required
2.Staffed availability requirements are 8:00 am-8:00 pm ET, Monday-Friday
3.On-call support required all other hours with a 15 minute response time


Required
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 months experience in i5/OS and OS / 400
At least 6 months experience in Opeating System Support
English: Fluent
