Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1 To study the new vehicle specification and design the brake system and decide brake specification.
2 Comparing the specifications with benchmark vehicles.
3 Prepare brake system Sign – Off.
4 To guide the Engineers for doing brake performance calculations and deciding the Brake target specification.
5 To guide the designer team in preparing brake system DMU (Digital Mock-up Unit) of the vehicle.
6 Support proto building activity and monitor vehicle testing.
7 To work with CFT members and do brake system DFMEA.
8 Finalize offer drawing of valve and give it to supplier & interact with them for valve development.
9 Co – ordinate with Indoor testing team for deciding Design Validation plan (DVP) and support valve testing.
10 To carry out vehicle level and component level regulatory compliance
11 To implement new regulatory norms (CMVR) and support vehicle certification activity.
12 To handle customer complaints with respect to brakes.
13 Resolve issues related to vehicle manufacturing in production line.
14 To understand importance of relationship with peer.
15 To do the PMS evaluation of peer.
16 To understand the training needs of the peer.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1 Exposure to brake valve development, functioning and testing.
2 Knowledge about vehicle dynamics.
3 Knowledge of foundation of Brake & lining development.
4 Knowledge of homologation of various countries
5 Exposure to new technology and future trends in brake system (i.e. ABS, EBS & ESP)
6 Good Presentation Skills
7 Good communication skills
8 Excellent people management and conflict management skills

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology, Master of Engineering/Technology or Doctorate in Engineering (Mechanical/ Automotive Engineering) or equivalent.
Required skill(s): Chassis.
At least 9 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Senior Managers specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent. Job role in R&D, Chassis Systems or equivalent.
