Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Interact with design Teams / Chief engineers for the review of designs as per the tolerance level, dimensional changes, capability and control identification.
2. Plan and implement the target settings for Reliability and Durability of existing and new projects of passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

3. Facilitate DFMEA , PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Tolerance , Root Cause Analysis and Variational analysis using CAE for Improving and developing Quality design for further execution.
4. Planning for product quality for formulating the control plan through APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
5. Ensure effective communication regarding the project status to senior management during reviews and discussions.
6. "Develop people for superior performance a) Motivate and Guide subordinates to enable them achieve organisational goals
b) Periodically review subordinate performance and identify development needs c) Organise relevant training for employee development."
7. Lead knowledge management efforts to leverage existing knowledge base in different area of the division and provide support to other divisions in terms of knowledge requirement.
8. Ensure succession planning
9. Foster an environment conducive for innovation & change
10. Retain skills / expertise developed in Research activities
11. Establish the system to ensure that all the activities of the group are properly tracked for timing and quality documented.
12. Set departmental goals consistent with organisational goals.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

1. Knowledge of product development process (DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE, etc) and reliability planning and demonstration process.
2. Expertise in understanding and incorporating techniques like Tolerancing, Root Cause Analysis and Variation analysis using CAE.
3. Good analytical skills to resolve design concerns by using classical tools like Sensitivity and capability analysis, simulation techniques, Fault tree analysis, Fish Bone analysis, DOE etc
4. Should have updates on global automotive scenario.
5. Capability to understand overall business process and market changes.
6. Good communication skills
7. Leadership skills & Strategic Orientation

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology, Master of Science, Master of Engineering/Technology or Doctorate in Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
At least 12 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably AGM/ DGM specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent. Job role in Quality Systems & Reliability or equivalent.
