Roles & Responsiblities
:
Provide DB2 database support by ensuring monitoring, data integrity and recovery capabilities, through the implementation and respect of the Globe standards and guidelines. Functional Responsibilities Implement the required DB2 (v7 or higher) databases, on IBM/AIX, according to the standards and to the specifications given by the clients. Commit on deadlines and respect them. Ensure availability and performances by proactive monitoring of databases, and tuning on demand. Control completion and availability of backup, to ensure maximum availability of the databases, and capability to recover from a database failure. Setup and control all required connections to the DB2 databases, as well as to other systems (ex.: ETL application servers, other RDBMS...). Ensure that physical space requirements are in place by monitoring installed capacity versus required space. Ensure 2rd level support on deployment, upgrades and technical issues on DBMS. The DBA advises on all databases related matters in order to improve efficiency or to improve business requirements. the knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter is strongly wished, as Data Conversion is closely linked with DB2. In addition, the knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter Oracle, or/and MS-SQLServer would be an advantage.
